How to make gin, distillation of alcoholic beverages at home
The recipe of gin, homemade alcoholic drink and cocktail gin and tonic
1L of alcohol or moonshine (50% ABV)
17 g of juniper
7 g of coriander
1.5 g of cassia-bark
1 g of lemon peel
2.5 g of orange peel
A pinch of: liquorice, anise, fennel and hyssop
Fill up the jar with all ingredients and alcohol. Let it infuse in dark place for about 7 days a room temperature mixing it everyday.
Before the distillation filter it from the herbs and stretch it with water till 33% ABV. Distill it slowly and stop separating when it’s 45-50% ABV. Stretch it till 45% ABV and let it infuse for another one or two weeks.
Following this recipe gin has very harmonious and tender taste, and the main “players” in flavour development are juniper and coriander. This gin is nice not only in pure form but also with tonic, and it’s nice for making some cocktails as well.
